Description
This piece is inspired by a very special day for Mexican culture, Día De Los Muertos. Calaverita De Azucar design was inspired by both ego death and physical death. Where boundaries are dissolved, the self merges into the external world in the same way that deceased bodies dissolve back into nature.
We wanted it to be difficult to distinguish where the skull ends and the background begins. The top also features the soul shooting back up into the afterlife and beneath is the earth which the body will now nourish. Wear these intricate beaded earrings and carry the deep symbolism of life, death, and rebirth wherever you go.
